After the company had announced that it will not be making any Windows Phone 7 iPAQs, HP is now saying that the company has no plans to bring any Android smartphones or tablets to the market. Instead, it seems that HP will be solely focused on its webOS platform, which it acquired after buying out Palm.
With HP relying solely on its in-house webOS platform, hopefully we’ll begin to see more smartphones emerge along with different form factors and more models and variations. The company is also committed to bringing a webOS tablet to the market, which will face off with Android tablets such as the Galaxy Tab, and also Apple’s iPad.
The company had a photo printer with an integrated Android tablet–that model may be salvaged from HP’s killing spree of foreign mobile operating systems as the product was developed before HP had begun its plans to acquire Palm for its webOS operating system.
