While the Google app we’re most interested in seeing receive an update at the moment is Google Music – what with an event scheduled for tomorrow that will likely launch Google’s new MP3 store – today the company has something different in mind, and has released an updated version of Google Voice to the Android Market.

Google introduces a pair of useful-sounding new features in this update, as well as a more minor one. If data coverage is a little spotty where you use your phone, you’ll want to check out the new ability to pre-fetch voicemail messages. The app will automatically retrieve them and save them locally, letting you listen to them later even when you can’t get online.

When you find yourself in charge of coordinating an event amongst several friends, you might end up thanking Google for giving the app the ability to send text messages to multiple recipients. Finally, there have been improvements made to how notifications for incoming text messages are displayed, but Google doesn’t detail the changes.

Google Voice 0.4.2.38 is available for download in the Android Market now.
