Google Maps has reached version 6.3.0 which you can grab by either following the source link below or consulting the Market application on your Android phone, if you haven’t already received an update notification.
The new version brings some improvements to battery performance for users of Latitude and Location History. Aside various bug fixes, the new version will allow you to run Latitude in the background without a huge impact on your battery. Location History also keeps track of the places you’ve been visiting in the background so this app refresh will hopefully make you forget you are running Maps at all (at least from time to time).
