Back at the end of April last year, Google and Sprint kicked off a partnership enabling you to use your mobile Sprint number as a Google Voice number without porting. Vincent Paquet, Group Product Manager for Google Voice, said: “We are having discussions with other carriers about this”.
However, no specific details were made public. At the moment, we don’t know who the other carriers are, which one of the rest or whether they’re talking with all of them. “Sprint integration has worked really well. We have, since Day One, had a steady stream of people signing up for it”, he added. The perspective of having another (or several) similar partnerships between Google and carriers will definitely strengthen the relationship between the Mountain View-company and network operators. Would you use the free offering if it came to your (non-Sprint) carrier?
