NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 system-on-a-chip finds itself at the heart of many smartphones and tablets released in 2011. If you’re the owner of one of those devices, you may have noticed an annoying bug with the Android Google Earth app, causing the program to crash on launch. If that caused you to quickly delete the app from your phone, it may be time to consider bringing it back, as the latest update available for Google Earth reportedly solves those Tegra 2 woes.

Google Maps may be more useful for finding your way around, but there’s little denying that Earth is a lot of fun to just play with – probably why we saw it featured so prominently in the Android store that popped-up in Australia.

In addition to the Tegra 2-specific fixes, Google also tackles a few other bugs that had been affecting the app, thought it doesn’t go into details in this release’s changelog. Google Earth 6.1.0.5671 is available for free download in the Android Market now.
