Not that there were any doubts now about Gingerbread but it’s always nice to get an official confirmation, especially when it comes from the developers of one of the most popular mobile platforms today.

We’ve heard that Android Gingerbread is likely to be version 2.3 and not 3.0 but unfortunately the giant Gingerbread statue Google had installed next to the Froyo one doesn’t wear a label with the version number same way it doesn’t “leak” any information on its release date. Anyways, looks really tasty!
