Google’s Android mobile platform is enjoying a tremendous level of popularity as it continues to grow day by day, reaching more than 300,000 activations per day to slowly be the generally preferred smartphone platform.
Android Developers have posted a video infographic on their YouTube channel visualizing the evolution of the activations from the early launch days until the year 2011. The video features both global representations as well as regionalized ones, with special emphasis on the T-Mobile G1 launch — as the initial T-0 time — the Motorola Droid launch and the Samsung Galaxy S launch.
With Android dominating both CES and MWC, we can expect the trend to continue as Google will continue to rise, especially with the upcoming availability of the Honeycomb powered Android tablets. Check the video out and make sure to watch for your own region/city to see if there are other Android enthusiasts around you.
