Korean manufacturer LG promised that the Optimus 2X dual-core smartphone will be updated to Android 2.3 Gingerbread — currently it ships with Android 2.2. Froyo — and now, courtesy of LG Denmark, we find out about the upgrade plans.
Both the question and the answer are pictured above and it looks like owners will have to wait at least two months — and we’re being optimistic as it states June-July — if the info is to be believed. The Optimus 2X was launched on December 16 and even if it wasn’t available at that date, getting Gingerbread six or seven months after its announcement is a little too much! Hopefully LG will not follow Samsung’s footsteps — from which the other Korean manufacturer seems to be recovering pretty well. And, as always, the info might be inaccurate and we can see the update earlier — or later…
