The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is one of the hottest new phones on the block, and so we have high expectations for its ability to provide a fantastic web browsing experience. In this video we show off the new capabilities of Android 4.0 in the browser, which include a new tabbed interface, better full-screen browsing, and improved performance. There’s also a new feature that comes over from Honeycomb called Quick Controls that lets you swipe your thumb from the right or left to bring up the URL bar, tab switcher, and menu.
Then we compare the web browsing performance of the Galaxy Nexus to that of the iPhone 4S and Samsung Galaxy S 2. We use Opera Mobile on the Galaxy S 2 because it’s a bit faster than the stock browser. The results weren’t surprising, with the Galaxy Nexus winning in almost every case.
