As owners of the Galaxy Nexus who swooped-up the phone as soon as it landed are all-too aware, the family of accessories promised by Samsung have been long overdue. We recently started to gain hope that that they’d finally see the light of day soon, with expected release dates for some of the accessories posted for early next week. It looks like after all the waiting that Samsung finally managed to get the gear ready a little ahead of schedule, with the i515 Pogo Desktop Dock now available for sale direct from the manufacturer.
The dock’s spring-loaded pogo pins let you easily drop your handset down into it without fumbling with any cables. An audio-out jack gives you the option to listen to music through a larger speaker system while your Galaxy Nexus charges. For that functionality, Samsung’s asking $90. It’s a bit steep for what it is, but we’re sure the convenience of drop-in charging will appeal to at least some users. With any luck, we’ll see the price drop to a more reasonable level in the future.
