Back in June we’ve seen a screenshot hinting that the latest build of Android, that is version 2.2 codenamed Froyo, will be coming soon for T-Mobile myTouch 3G phones and a week ago we posted about the imminence of the Froyo update which should have started to roll out.
The platform refresh together with goodies like JIT compiler, Exchange and security updates, Google Apps updates, Market updates, and more was not intended for all myTouch 3G devices though. According to the T-Mobile forums, the Froyo update has already been pushed out for certain users of the Fender edition, so no update for now related to the myTouch with 3.5mm jack – slated to arrive “the coming weeks”. Owners of the old-style myTouch 3G who got the update are presented with a pretty stock-like Android experience but according to Engadget, everyone should be able to update by Halloween.
