Thanks to the need of smartphone OEM employees to share test photos amongst one another, sites like Picasa and Flickr are full of images captured with unreleased and, in some cases, unannounced devices. Most of these shots are about as inartistic as you can imagine: picture after picture of people’s keyboards, mice, and coffee mugs — when they’re not macro shots of the wall. However, there are always a few gems among the junk, and we’ve managed to collect decent snaps of almost every handset announced at CES. (Full disclosure: we cheated with the Inspire 4G and Thunderbolt from HTC by picking a nice-looking Desire HD shot.) Keep in mind that for many of these pre-release phones, the camera software has not yet been fully optimized, so the resulting images should not necessarily be considered representative of the eventual retail hardware quality.
