We’ve been witnessing a recent flood of Gingerbread updates for Android handsets still on Froyo, most recently with the Samsung Droid Charge beginning to receive its yesterday. It looks like Samsung is holding on to that momentum, as signs now point to the Fascinate on Verizon to be among the next handsets chosen to make the upgrade.
As Fascinate owners must be all-too aware, this update’s been a long time coming. There have been leaked in-development Gingerbread releases showing up since late spring, always making us think an official release might be soon to follow, but never quite materializing.
Verizon has updated its support site for the Fascinate to indicate that its Gingerbread release is finally about to drop. As always, we see this kind of behavior from Verizon from a few days to a week or so before the update actually starts going out OTA to handsets. Once it does, though, it will bring the Fascinate up to software revision EH03.
