We’ve been hearing about an upcoming Facebook update for a couple of days now and, as promised, the application refresh is now live in the Android Market for you to grab.

The new version is 1.8 and brings quite a lot of changes. First of all you have a new user interface that, just as on the iPhone, allows you to navigate quickly to sections of the app. Search has been improved to return results for friends, subscribers, apps, and pages and there’s even a new photo viewing experience.
