European versions of the HTC Sensation are getting over-the-air update notifications which probably have to do something with the recently discovered vulnerabilities for which HTC is believed to be the culprit.
At the beginning of October it has been discovered that any application requesting Internet permission is able to access sensitive data due to HTC’s HtcLoggers.apk. The manufacturer admitted to the existence of the vulnerability and promised a quick fix.
The description of the 9MB update doesn’t mention anything related to the issue but contains only generic description of “performance improvements and new features”. The timing seems right though and we want to believe, at least until proven otherwise, that it’s the fix HTC committed to.
