If you have a smartphone running Google’s Android operating system, you can now easily access the content on your device by using an Internet browser on your desktop computer, given they are both on the same local area network.
The application is called Browsix and it will work via WiFi for improved security. There are various file operations supported, such as downloading, uploading, deleting and renaming files in addition to viewing your pictures or videos, listening to music and even sending and receiving text messages. To achieve all this, you need to have the Browsix application installed on your smartphone (you can find it in the Market) and make sure both your computer and device are using the same network. After that, it’s as easy as pointing your browser to www.browsix.com and you will be redirected straight to your smartphone. There will be separate pages for pictures, videos and music and there’s also a File Explorer for operations between the smartphone and the computer which is working both ways.
