You’ve seen our Launcher Wars videos in the past, and we’ve made mention that developers of both LauncherPro and ADW Launcher are working on ground-up re-writes of their apps.

Recently Brandon talked about some of the new features coming in the next version of ADW Launcher. Those new features include the ability to long-press a widget to bring up advanced options, a cleaner way to add shortcuts to your homescreens, plus application management right from your app drawer.

What’s included in this early look is very slick and polished. However, this shouldn’t be considered a replacement for the current version of ADW Launcher, rather, it’s more of a technology demo to show off a few of the features that are fairly complete. I’m sure we’ll see something closer to the full feature set when this version of the app comes out of beta.
