I’ve been in the tech industry for let’s just say “longer than I want to admit”. Because of that I don’t get impressed that easily. Oh sure, I’ll see a new technology, a new gadget, or even a new feature in an app and think that it’s “really cool”, but anything more than that takes something extraordinary.
Dungeon Defenders is it. This is a 3D MMORPG action game that uses the Unreal 3 engine. I’ve had to replace the majority of a computer’s guts (motherboard, CPU, RAM, and video card) just to be able to run a game for the desktop built upon the Unreal 3 engine! But soon we’ll be able to play those types of games on our phones?!
That’s simply amazing! Don’t believe me? Take a look at the video!
You will have to have some pretty high-end hardware to run this and similar games. How high-end? The follow devices “will work”:
– Nexus S
– Samsung Galaxy Tab
– Samsung Galaxy based Cell Phones
– Droid 2
– Droid X
– HTC Evo 4G
– HTC Incredible
– myTouch 4G (mostly compatible)
– T-Mobile G2
– Dell Streak
– HTC Desire
– Nexus One
Other devices “may work”, but they need to have the following specifications:
– 512+ MB RAM
– GPU capable of OpenGL ES 2.0+
– Android 2.1+
– 800+ MHz CPU
– 400+ MB available storage
According to Trendy Entertainment, the app should be available in the Android Market December 23, 2010 for US$2.99.
