You might recall, in our review of the Motorola Droid Bionic we had to ding it half-a-star due to the pops and high-pitched whining present in its audio.

Sometimes the audio problems were there, sometimes they weren’t. It was odd and annoying. We weren’t alone. Many, many others we experiencing the same problem — and we let Motorola know. Some of us were told they’d address the problem in a future OTA update.

Speaking of updates, Motorola says they’ve got one in testing that will include fixes for problems identified through “owner feedback” — we have to hope it includes a resolution to the audio problems.

The bad news? According to the Motorola Support Forum, the update won’t be ready for 30-60 days. That’s right, you might not get the update before the end of the year.

Nonetheless, we’re hoping it’s available sooner than later, and we hope it fixes our audio!
