Last week, we got out first look at one of the many accessories that will soon be available for Motorola’s Droid 3, hopefully signaling that the smartphone’s release is soon-approaching. At first we heard that the handset may land at Verizon on July 7, only later to see a Best Buy screenshot indicating that its stores aren’t expecting the Droid 3 until the following week. It’s coming, all right, but we can’t just yet say when. In the meantime, that lone case we looked at earlier is now among friends, thanks to the release of a new leaked screenshot showing a whole horde of accessories on the way.
Options include cases galore, a charging dock, and a few battery-related items. You’ll be able to pick up an extended 1930mAh battery for when the original 1540mAh model just doesn’t have the longevity your needs demand. There’s also the option for a replacement battery cover that gives the Droid 3 inductive charging abilities, letting you recharge the smartphone wirelessly with a system resembling Palm’s Touchstone. Verizon’s been offering these adapters for many of its top-tier handsets lately, which is fine by us, limiting the extra bulk and expense to those users who will actually buy an inductive charging station, instead of requesting that manufacturers include the technology in phones by default.
Look for the Droid 3 to arrive sometime in the next two weeks.
