The HTC EVO 3D Sprint has announced at this year’s CTIA has been referenced as the PG86100 in both the GLBenchmark database and with the occasion of its WiFi Certification. A certain PG862XX has just surfaced while passing Bluetooth tests with version 3.0 of the standard.
Bluetooth.org certified a PG862XX smartphone made by HTC capable of Bluetooth 3.0 which, alone, is not a ground-shaking information. What is interesting though is that the CDMA Sprint EVO 3D has the version number of PG86100 and this one is PG862XXX — meaning a generic codename placeholder for subsequent numbers. Did the GSM HTC EVO 3D version just pass this certification? Are we likely to see this too unveiled along with the HTC Sensation — which we spotted back in January and turned out to be the new name of the Pyramid — with the occasion of next week’s HTC event in London?
