If Dell’s Aero has too small of a screen for you, clocking in at 3.5 inches, and the Streak, with its larger 5-inch display is too large as a smartphone, then you’ll be happy to know Dell’s got something a little bit more mainstream in the pipes. Previously rumored as the Dell Thunder, sources from Engadget have confirmed that the device is indeed legitimate and will feature a 4.1-inch OLED screen, putting it right between the Galaxy S‘s 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen in size and the 4.3-inch monsters of the Motorola Droid X and the Sprint EVO 4G.
The tipster says that the device should run on a WVGA resolution, though it is possible that the screen may be higher resolution than that, putting it close to Apple’s Retina Display on the iPhone 4.
Other things to note is that although the device seems to run stock Android 2.1, it may ship and launch with Dell’s proprietary user interface, much like that found on the Streak.
