We were pretty rough on you in our past two letters, but the sentiment was truly a mix of disappointment and frustration — we always knew that you were capabale of being a market leader, and we found it unfortunate that you seemed to be falling behind the competition. Well the situation has changed quite a bit with the introduction of the EVO 3D (coming to Sprint this summer), and we wanted to express our gratitude that you’ve re-entered the game with a device that not only matches the specs of other upcoming high-end handsets, but actually bests them in a few respects.
There’s no doubt that the 3D will be a monster hit for Sprint — even folks who don’t really care about the 3D capabilities will pick it up for the speed and power. Just remember that there are plently of consumers outside of the US (and on AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile) still waiting for a handset to match the Motorola Atrix, LG Optimus 2X, Black, and 3D, Samsung Galaxy S II…the list is starting to get kind of long. Some people have been whispering about a flagship phone codenamed Pyramid that you’ve been working on, so we’re hoping that it does more than simply play catch-up to the other top Android manufacturers.
Anyway, thanks again for coming through with a product that finally starts pushing the technological envelope as you once did so frequently: HTC has been one of our favorite companies for close to a decade now, and it would have been a shame for you not to occupy a spot in our pocket ever again.
