Those who run the CyanogenMod Custom ROM are probably familiar with the inclusion of a custom wallpaper selector with a variety of CyanogenMod-themed images to use as your homescreen background.
In one of the builds an image containing a lineup of scantily-clad young women was included. In the changelogs this was denoted as “#boobs”. Since this wallpaper was part of the ROM it couldn’t easily be removed.
The image has been a source of controversy for quite some time. Today it was formally removed from the ROMs — for good. The reasons for the removal were many. Most centered around the fact that CM7 is no longer a ROM that appeals only to a select set of users — red-blooded American males. This ROM now has global appeal, and the user-base has expanded significantly. Also, since the image was essentially a modified version of another picture, copyright issues were also present.
Ironically, in its place, is a picture of a pair of what appear to be Blue Footed Boobies, one of which is sporting a CyanogenMod 7 logo. Just in case you’ve never seen a Blue Footed Boobie, here’s what they look like.

@kmobs on Twitter is the guy you’ll want to talk to if you’d like to compliment or criticize the decision.
