We’ve been wondering what Samsung and AT&T had in store since getting an invite to this afternoon’s press event in New York City. While we haven’t heard anything back from the event just yet, a quick snap of the setup they’ve got going reveals quite plainly that the companies are using this opportunity to reveal the Infuse 4G.
Once the Stealth V, the now-Infuse 4G will feature a 1.2GHz Hummingbird CPU and a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen. We’ll have full details for you shortly, as the event kicks off.
Update: It’s official now; the Infuse 4G will hit AT&T on May 15, for about $200 on-contract, no rebates needed. The phone will come with a $25 credit towards movie downloads from the Samsung Media Hub, limited to he first half-million customers to buy one. Considering Walmart is planning to carry the phone for under $180, though, getting it straight from AT&T may not be the smartest move.
The Infuse 4G is just 8.9 millimeters thick at its narrowest spot, but with the 8.5-millimeter thick Galaxy S II on the way, it won’t hold the thinnest 4G crown for long. Now we’re just waiting for a US carrier to debut it.
For the icing on the cake: the Infuse 4G comes with a special edition of Angry Birds, with an exclusive level, and the opportunity to win some prizes.
