Back in December, we broke the news that Boost Mobile was looking to expand its Android lineup with the the LG Optimus Black and the Samsung Replenish. Not much later after that, we got our hands on the first press shots of the two phones all decked-out with Boost logos. At the time, though, we lacked a good sense of Boost’s release plans for the pair. That mystery started solving itself earlier this month, when Boost announced the coming availability of the Samsung Replenish. Now the final piece is falling into place, with Boost revealing that the LG Optimus Black will be arriving on the carrier as the LG Marquee (just like on Sprint) on January 23.

While the Replenish saw itself receive a quite affordable $100 price tag, the higher-end hardware of the Marquee demands a correspondingly higher cost. Users interested in the Marquee will have to shell-out about $280 for the smartphone. That’s not really that bad, though, and is even a little cheaper than you’ll find an unlocked Optimus Black at many retailers.

The LG Marquee features a 1GHz processor, a four-inch NOVA display, a five-megapixel main camera, and a two-megapixel front-facer. The phone arrives running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and is supposed to have 4GB of storage; the press release claims that’s 4GB of “internal storage”, but the Marquee as we know it has 2GB of internal flash and ships with a 2GB microSD card.
