While there are a million and one torrent clients under the sun, BitTorrent Inc’s µTorrent is one of the most popular as well as one of the most powerful. A web-based administration system lets you manage your active torrents while away from home, and now that power is available on your Android phone, thanks to the latest alpha of the µTorrent Remote joining the Android Market.
µTorrent Remote gives you a complete overview of the torrents currently loaded into µTorrent 3.0 Alpha on your home PC. While the app is still in development, in its current state you’re able to view the current progress of ongoing downloads and control which torrents you’re seeding.
When you discover a new legal indie album torrent, or the latest Linux ISO, all on the up-and-up, you can send those torrents from your smartphone to your home PC, so that they’ll start downloading while you’re still out-and-about.
You’ll need Android 2.1 or later to install µTorrent Remote, available now in the Android Market. If you had an APK of the previous beta already loaded, you may need to remove it before continuing, as there have some reports of problems when directly upgrading from one version to the next.
