If you’re looking for another source of streaming audio and video content you might be interested in hearing about the BBC’s Android app: BBC iPlayer.
BBC iPlayer let’s you watch and listen to BBC TV and Radio programs from the last seven days as well as tune in to live content.
According to the Android Market, the app lets you:
- Watch live TV
- Listen to live radio
- Scroll through and find Featured and Most Popular programmes
- Add programmes to your favourites and have them ready and waiting when a new episode or series is available
- Browse through the schedule for upcoming programmes
Unfortunately the app is carrier limited (T-Mobile USA, for one, isn’t on the approved list). If you’d like to see if it’s supported on your carrier, check it out at Market.Android.com and try to install it to your device. The Market will let you know if it’s supported on your device (which must be running 2.2+) and carrier.
UPDATE: Users who have found the .apk floating around the cloud report that after installing the app they’re met with an error message stating “BBC iPlayer is only available in the UK”.
