Samsung’s Galaxy Note on AT&T in the States is absolutely going to be getting an update bringing the phone to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. AT&T has confirmed as much, and we’ve seen leaked ICS releases specifically for this AT&T version of the hardware. The big question on the minds of so many Note owners has been just when will the carrier get around to finally releasing it. We may not be any closer to learning the precise date, but there are some new signs that AT&T is getting closer to finalizing update plans, showing-off an ICS-running Note at this week’s CTIA show in New Orleans.

Without taking a close look, you’d be forgiven for mistaking this Note for one still running Gingerbread. From the home screen to the app launcher, the elements of TouchWiz still dominate the Note’s UI to the point where ICS doesn’t make much of an initial impact. Once you start poking around into the phone’s menus, ICS starts to reveal its presence, however, with this particular model running a build of Android 4.0.3.

We didn’t get a chance to see them in this video, but the official release of ICS for the Note on AT&T will include several new and upgraded apps, revealed to us by Samsung as its Premium Suite, featuring plenty of support for the S Pen stylus.
