We’ve been wondering all along why AT&T dropped the 3D moniker and chose to go with the 4G in the case of its own LG Optimus 3D, marketed as LG Thrill 4G? There might have been a last minute change — or a mistake in the Best Buy buyer’s guide — as the phone now shows up as the AT&T Thrill 3D.

If you look at the screenshot above taken from Best Buy’ buyer’s guide you’ll see the LG Thrill 3D. It’s the same LG Thrill 4G, the AT&T variant of LG’s first glasses-free 3D phone, the Optimus 3D. It’s been reportedly delayed to August 21 but seeing it in Best Buy’s product catalog for August is rather reassuring.

The phone features a 4.3-inch 3D auto-stereoscopic glasses-free display of WVGA resolution, has a 1GHz TI OMAP4 processor, 512MB RAM, 8GB of internal storate and dual-five-megapixel stereoscopic cameras at the back. It will reportedly also be the cheapest 3D smartphone on the market.
