While many were excited about the Asus Transformer Prime, the very first nVidia Tegra 3-powered quad-core Android tablet, the excitement quickly faded away for those users who wanted to tinker with the tablet; the quickly found out that the bootloader was locked.
According to a recent Asus tweet, a tool will be coming to the Transformer Prime in February, bringing the ability to unlock the bootloader. We’re less than a week away from February but there exact availability date for the tool was not made public. However, Asus’ commitment to the cause is commendable; we’ll just have to see the company’s approach and all the disclaimers they’ll be putting up. Until then, check out the recent firmware that sadly doesn’t seem to fix the GPS issue.
Just got word that the root tool for the @ASUS #TransformerPrime should be coming in February. ^EJ
