ASUS ‘Padfone’ Tipped as Hybrid Device Name

Brandon Miniman | June 1, 2011 2:11 PM

Earlier today we caught wind of an upcoming ASUS event at Computex 2011 where the company is expected to announce a new tablet/phone hybrid device. Flipping through some recent trademark filings both in the US and in Europe, it turns out that ASUS has applied for protection on the word “Padfone”, which presumably will be the name for their upcoming device. The name alone doesn’t give us many more clues about the particulars of the device, except that maybe it’ll be more of a tablet than a phone (since they didn’t go with “Fonepad”).
