You might remember that Apple has sued Amazon over the Appstore denomination claiming that it confuses customers and that Cupertino will be in loss. Amazon fired right back and from what Business Week is reporting, Apple could lose the lawsuit.
Because Apple hasn’t demonstrated that certain confusion among consumers that it was talking about when suing Amazon, U.S. District Judge Phyllis Hamilton said that she will “probably” deny the motion. Microsoft was one of the first companies to object against Apple trademarking “App Store” and, if the motion is denied, Amazon gets to keep the Appstore name that is currently using.
