It’s been almost seven months since Andy Rubin tweeted back in last December that there were more than 300,000 daily activations of Google Android-powered smartphones. Today, El Goog adds another 200,000 to the fast growing list.
Mr. Android himself tweeted that Google accounts for more than 500,000 daily activations of Android smartphones. There were daily 100,000 in May 2010, 160,000 per day in June 2010, 200,000 in August 2010, 300,000 in December 2010 and now 500,000 on the 28th of June, according to Rubin himself. It’s a huge milestone for Google and its Android platform which is more popular than ever but, as with any graph, it will not grow forever. iOS 5 and Windows Phone Mango are just around the corner (yes, we know Ice Cream Sandwich is too).
