If you’re debating something like which smartphones have the best displays, or the most comfortable keyboards, there are a lot of different cases that could be made for which models land on top. When it comes to the phones that offer their buyers the best retail experience, though, it’s hard to argue that anyone can hold a candle to iPhones at the Apple Store. What would it be like if we had a similar store that instead turned all its focus to Android, showing-off the latest Android phones and offering interactive Android-themed exhibits? Google’s Australian division is giving us all a chance to see what such a spectacle would be like, opening Androidland with the help of carrier Telstra.
If you wanted to learn more about an Android smartphone, Androidland is the place to do it, thanks to an affiliation with Samsung, HTC, Sony Ericsson, Motorola and LG. The store, part of a larger Telstra facility, doesn’t just give curious shoppers the chance to try out some new hardware and talk with knowledgeable staff, but have some Android-themed fun, as well. You can navigate the world with super-sized Google Earth, play some Angry Birds, or see what you’d look like decked-out as an Android yourself.
What’s perhaps the best part: they pump-in gingerbread scent through the ventilation.
If you’re nearby Melbourne, be sure to check out the Androidland experience. If you’re outside Australia, you’ll just have to stay jealous like us.
