If there’s one thing we love more than a smartphone full of apps, it’s a smartphone full of apps we got great deals on. From time to time we’ll let you know when there’s one noteworthy app in particular getting a deep discount, or when an app store runs a larger promotion. It looks like we may be in the midst of the latter at the moment, with some prominent apps in the Android Market seeing discounts down to ten cents a piece.
Either someone at Google’s looking to get fired, and has been going around modifying app prices, or we’re looking at some kind of larger promotion that just hasn’t been announced yet. The fact that the same apps in the UK version of the Android Market are discounted down to ten pence each, rather than featuring a price defined by the exchange rate, suggests there’s a larger, concerted effort at work.
So just what apps can you pick up today for what’s essentially free? Minecraft Pocket Edition is normally seven dollars, but is now one of these ten-cent titles. Just a couple weeks ago, we wrote about a half-price sale that was going on for SwiftKey X; that hardly even seems like a deal anymore when compared to a ten-cent pricetag. You’ll also find racer Asphalt 6 and popular download Paper Camera.
Update: This is part of Google’s 10 Billions Apps celebration, and a full list of discounted titles is now available.
Update 2: Snag these while you can; there will be another selection of ten cent apps every day for the next 10 days.
