You might recall that we’re not particularly fond of HTC Sense 4.0, because in a lot of places, it holds back Ice Cream Sandwich, which is already elegant, functional, and fast. With Android’s fantastic ability to change the launcher (meaning: the entire homescreen/app drawer experience), those running Sense 4.0 (or any undesireable stock launcher) can opt for something better. We’ve shown you options in the past such as Laucher Pro, ADW Launcher EX, Go Launcher EX, and others. Today, we’re going to add a new one to the list: Apex Launcher, which is free in Google Play. What’s great about Apex Launcher is that it maintains the stock look and feel or Android Ice Cream Sandwich, while adding a ton of terrific functionality. Even after a lot of customization, Apex Launcher feels super fast.
Apex Launcher lets you change everything about the ICS launcher. You can change the number of columns and rows to fit more icons, you can resize any widget, you can change the way folders look, you can customize the app drawer, and you can even utilize a variety of gestures to make launching apps or accessing certain settings super easy. Give it a try and let us know what you think!
