We first heard of Android Ice Cream Sandwich version 4.0.5 in February when French carrier SFR ousted a table with information that claimed the Galaxy Nexus (and Nexus S) will get this version over-the-air sometime in March.
Now Android 4.0.5 is back again and this time is with the occasion of a rumor according to which Verizon is testing an update for their LTE Galaxy Nexus. If all things go according to plan, the 4.0.5 build will be unleashed upon phones early next month with lots of fixes and improvements, among which solving the audio reboot and data stability issues.
If the pieces of the puzzle fall into place, the upcoming Nexus S ICS update will be the one mentioned above — which is still just a speculation — and both pure Androids will run the same version.
