Sprint’s Samsung Transform got a 4 out of 5 in our review mainly because of the slower, 800MHz processor and the lower amount of RAM, in addition to the Android 2.1 Eclair running on it.
SDX Developers have managed to port Android 2.2 Froyo on the handset and it looks like they’ve got a pretty stable port. As with any non-native platform ports, there are some flaws though: the camera flash as well as the front facing camera are not (yet) working. If you don’t want to wait until Sprint releases an official Froyo update (whenever that will be), head over to the source link for detailed instructions on how to get Android 2.2.1 on your Transform. Of course, as always, you’re doing this at your own responsibility as the process is risky!
