Amazon’s Appstore already offers a free app of the day, but a new promotion has the potential to turn plenty of its other apps into what are essentially freebies, offering you Appstore credit for giving the company access to your Twitter account.

By following the Appstore Twitter account, linking your Twitter account with your Amazon account, and letting Amazon send out a promotional tweet on your behalf, you’ll net yourself a cool $2. Admittedly, that’s pocket change, but these steps only take a moment to follow-through, and cheaper apps are cheaper apps.

Heck, even if you’re not too thrilled about selling-out like this, or linking accounts together in this manner, how long does it take to set up a brand new Twitter account that you’ll never use again? Considering there are tons of $2-or-less apps that this promotion renders free, it might just be worth your time.
