We’re certainly used to running across all sorts of renderings of concept phones, whether they’re something a manufacturer has put together for an expo, something a design student created on his or her own time, or (occasionally) something a joker assembled to trick people into thinking it’s a real handset. The image above just screams “concept phone” at us, yet this design is supposedly one of the few to take that big next step into becoming a very real glass-and-silicon smartphone.

The phone’s called the ADzero, and that shell is made out of environmentally-friendly bamboo. The majority of hardware and software details on the handset aren’t yet available, but we’re told it will run a custom build of Android. Despite the heavy look of its wooden facade, the phone will supposedly be lighter than an iPhone.

Hopefully full details on the handset’s specs and information on when and where it’s going up for release will arrive shortly. We’ve got a bad feeling this one’s going to end up being quite expensive, but you never know.
