Following the update of Flash Player for Android, Adobe has released an update for their Air engine as well.
Version 2.6 not only brings official support for Android 3.0 Honeycomb, but improvements for Android 2.2+ devices as well. These changes include improved performance, updated Android gesture support, improved handling of HTML content within Air apps, smoother video delivery, faster rendering and animation of games, and tighter visual integration between Flash and HTML content.
By itself, Adobe Air doesn’t provide much functionality. However, as apps written using Adobe’s Air engine are ported to Android, we’ll begin to see more cross-platform apps showing up in the Android Market.
