At CES Acer unveiled a smaller version of their budget Liquid Android handset aptly called the Liquid Mini, touting a smallish 3.2″ HVGA display, a 600MHz CPU, 512MB of RAM, and Android 2.2. The Liquid Mini has passed the FCC with the proper bands to do 3G on AT&T. This doesn’t necessarily mean that AT&T is going to be selling the phone directly, but that the smartphone will be soon sold unlocked. If you’re looking for a vanilla Android phone that won’t cost you an arm and a leg, this might be something to keep an eye on.
