All iPhone 7 Plus colors and jet black iPhone 7 are officially sold out
No headphone jack? No major redesign? No actual physical home button? No problem, said millions of iFans around the world, as they pre-ordered the heck out of some of Apple’s most controversial iPhones in the super-successful iOS device family’s history.
Unfortunately, we’ll never know exactly how many iPhone 7 and 7 Plus copies have been snapped up since September 9, and how many more people will snatch them off the shelves of physical Apple stores and authorized retailers during the upcoming first weekend of concrete availability.
What Cupertino isn’t shy to reveal is only “limited quantities of iPhone 7 in silver, gold, rose gold, and black will be available for walk-in customers at Apple retail stores” beginning tomorrow, Friday, September 16.
Meanwhile, “initial quantities of iPhone 7 Plus in all finishes and iPhone 7 in jet black will not be available for walk-in customers, having sold out during the online pre-order period.”
It’s of course still possible some “partner locations” are left a few uber-trendy units of their initially allocated inventory, which they’ll look to sell first thing on Friday. But your safest bet probably remains to order the smooth jet black iPhone 7 and 7 Plus in any of the five available paint jobs online, straight from Apple. Waiting times currently range from a couple of weeks to a couple of months.
