Google Maps ride-hailing options expands with Lyft and Gett

Uber pads its share of the global ride-hailing pie. Its positioning is very apparent as its service has been the go-to for Google Maps users looking for a way over “there”. Sure, Maps added on six regional services back in March, but that UberX has always been tops on the ride service list.

Not necessarily anymore. Lyft and Gett are now on the roster in the US. Lyft plays second fiddle to Uber at home while Gett, an Israeli company with services in over 60 cities across the globe including New York — the only location where Google will show Gett listings. Lyft options will be seen nationwide.

The services are now available to Google Maps users on Android and iOS.
