Huawei P9 teaser pretty much nails dual-camera confirmation

Are HTC and Huawei using the same playbook for their latest promo campaigns? Both manufacturers have new Android hardware that’s just about to launch: the HTC 10 for HTC, and the P9 family of devices for Huawei. Yesterday HTC published its latest teaser for the HTC 10, one that featured two camera lenses emerging from a black background. Now Huawei’s got its own take on that same theme, with a new P9 teaser that sure looks like it confirms what we’ve been hearing about dual cameras.

While HTC was clearly talking about both the front and the rear camera for the HTC 10, we’ve long heard that at least some of Huawei’s upcoming P9 phones – and the latest leaks suggested it could be all three – would get a pair of cameras around back. Huawei’s sure hip to what we’ve been talking about, and the presence of dual lenses in this teaser is undoubtedly in reference to the dual-12MP setup we’ve been expecting.

As Huawei’s already announced, the company is holding a press event on April 6 in London, and with that April date popping up again here, there should be little doubt in your mind that the P9 and its brethren are just about to make their debut.

Will the rest of the leaked specs prove to be as accurate as those dual-camera reports? Can this setup really deliver more impressive pics than just one high-quality single camera? Our answers are just two weeks away.
