US, Canada get Lumia 650 pre-orders with April Fools’ promise

We saw it at MWC. We saw it in Great Britain. Well, as promised, the details came to surface on the Microsoft Lumia 650 — namely, the purchases and shipment details in the US and Canada.

The newest first-party Windows 10 Mobile offering is a mid-ranger, and as such, caught an appealing mid-range price on both sides of the border at $199 in the respective currencies — that means that Canada’s getting a better deal with a US equivalent at $151.

Still, for the money, it’s the same fun in a slab: that Snapdragon 212 (which actually outclocks the ol’ 400 by 100,000 cycles) with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of microSD-expandable storage with a 720p OLED display spanning five inches fronting the experience. And yes, it’s a dual-SIM, GSM-friendly device.

We do like it in a petty way as it was cleanly designed and decently built, unlike its flagship compatriots.

Shipments should begin by April 1, but if you do want this thing quick, don’t fool around.
