In the market for a Chromecast Audio? Get two from Google or Best Buy, and save $15

“You snooze, you lose” is a verified saying when it comes to gadget deals, but while second-generation Chromecasts no longer net you free $10 gift cards or $20 Google Play credit, the audio-only model remains a pretty great bargain.

Not as great as the complimentary video-capable Chromecast 2 offered with three-month Spotify Premium subscriptions a few weeks back, but tempting nonetheless, at $27.50 a pop. The reduced price is only valid if you pick up two Chromecast Audio units from Google or Best Buy, the $55 tag of the bundle bringing you a cool 15 bucks savings.

Why would you ever need a pair of these Android and PC-compatible streaming pucks? For one thing, because they can synchronize and play the same song on multiple speakers in different rooms. Neat feature, not to mention you may want to transform several “dumb” speakers into intelligent sound systems without having to disconnect and reconnect the Chromecast Audio all the time.

Will we be seeing the digital media player more deeply discounted down the line? Possibly, but are you willing to take that risk when two copies at $55 instead of $70 is a perfectly opportune promotion?
