Leaks go against notion of Huawei P9 dual speakers

After a cascade of leaks a couple of weeks ago, we now have another volley of images showing off Huawei’s spring flagship for 2016, the P9.

One source on Weibo shows off the back of the phone, though excluding much of the surface area with a black case and labeling. We do see the circular fingerprint sensor, a dual-LED flash module with some sort of focus unit below it and a dual-camera setup. No, the trend of two is not over just yet.

Another source on Chinese forum Code Mart has blasted out several pictures of the aluminium frame of what is supposedly the P9. Composite images show that the leaks comport to a recent P9 case expose.

Unlike the earlier renders we’ve seen, it seems that Huawei will stick to its single speaker tendencies — buttressing the bottom with a microphone and 3.5mm headphone jack but still making the change up to USB Type-C. We also should point out the rather cramped and possibly hard-to-reach volume and power button collective on the side, too.

All of this still doesn’t get to the point of when we can expect the P9 to be officially revealed, though.
