Samsung said to be preparing 17 million Galaxy S7 units for sale in three months

The chaebol is hoping to push high-end device sales up with a big bet on the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. That will mean pushing factories to the limit and pushing the sell to consumers.

Samsung insiders have told ETNews that the company will spend February, March and April making 17.2 million units. The split between the two models comes down to 9.9 million for the S7 and 7.3 million for the S7 edge. The bulk of the production will come when the phone’s selling red hot after its March embargo.

Galaxy S6 sales within the first three months were logged at about 15.8 million, so we’ll see if the company can pull 16-million-plus this time around.
